Start 2023 off on the right foot ….

The 2023 Rural and Remote Forum will be held in the beautiful Mudgee Region at the Parklands Resort & Conference Centre on 15-17 March. Named by the Wiradjuri clan, Mudgee originates from the aboriginal word Moothi, meaning ‘nest in the hills’ or ‘resting place’, a perfect location for us all to take the time to breathe, settle in and connect.

The focus of the 2023 Forum is “a time to thrive”. This is an opportunity for us to come together to reflect on the journey we have travelled so far, and look forward as we work towards putting Early Childhood Education and Care at the forefront of the minds of Government and the wider community.

We look forward to sharing this rewarding experience with you all.

  • An important opportunity for team building and professional development.
  • Share stories and build partnerships.

Keynote Speaker: Andy Saunders

Andy Saunders, a proud Biripi man and the father of four, has an extraordinary ability to use humour to break down barriers and stereotypes as well as provoke thought.

Andy has been part of the Australian Government ‘Stop it at the Start’ campaign, promoting the importance of role modelling respect to children and encouraging others to call out disrespect of women.

Andy says his favourite saying of all time is “children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see”. He adds “what I am trying to say is that we send messages to our kids without even saying anything, because our kids are still getting messages from parents and carers that they will take to any world. They see all, they hear all, they soak it all in and in some way they become what we are”.

This Keynote address is sure to leave you laughing, but also reflecting on the important role educators can play in shaping children’s futures.
