Thrive@Work – Supporting Wellbeing
Our commitment
CCSA is committed to the wellbeing of everyone working in the early childhood education and care sector. We facilitate workshops, webinars and professional conversations. We collaborate with researches and other experts in the field to support and encourage workplaces where you can thrive.
For more than 50 years CCSA has recognised the important and challenging role that those working in the early childhood education and care sector have and the impact that this may have on their wellbeing.
As the work of the sector becomes more demanding, as we face changing regulations and funding arrangements, and with the added challenges of more extreme weather events and the unprecedented effects of COVID, we know that now is the time to focus not just on personal wellbeing but on thriving at work.
In 2020 we collaborated with the Early Childhood Educators Wellbeing Project (ECEWP) to present Thrive at Work – Leading Wellbeing in your Early Childhood Service. This series of interactive workshops was designed to support leaders to create healthy workplaces by explaining the connections between educator’s and children’s wellbeing, and the interaction between physical and psychological health.
The discussions raised in the Thrive at Work interactive workshops from 2020 lead us to include wellbeing and thriving at work topics in our more recent Coffee Conversation Series in 2021. These Coffee Conversations were facilitated by sector and industry experts to provide a unique opportunity for services to share their experiences and ideas.
In 2022 CCSA are proud to be partnering with academics from Macquarie University and the ECEWP to create the “Well Being Initiatives For Early Childhood Professionals”. This exciting project is aimed at providing examples of initiatives that Early Childhood Services have undertaken within the sector, that support the wellbeing of Early Childhood Professionals. The Wellbeing Initiative anticipates that this project will authentically share practical ideas that services could adopt to support wellbeing within their service and service community.
