Message from the CEO: 19 April 2023

We have been advocating on behalf of our members on many fronts over the last few weeks. With a change of government now in place for NSW we look forward to working with the newly appointed The Honourable Prue Car, Deputy Premier, Minister for Education and Early Learning. We will continue our advocacy with the new government discussing the current issues and opportunities for early childhood. We also continue to participate in the regular Australian Government Department of Education Early Childhood Stakeholder Advisory group on broader national issues. I encourage our members to read the latest interim report from the Royal Commission. The Interim Report seeks the feedback of South Australians on the Commission’s vision for the future of preschool. We collaborated closely with Early Childhood Australia in a submission to ensure that key issues were highlighted.

On a CCSA front, we are farewelling two long term staff members. I would like to acknowledge the work and contributions of both Shauna Fayers, who has been with CCSA for over 17 years, working on many fronts in supporting members and has watched CCSA grow from 4 staff to over 30 staff and John Gunn, who has been with us for past 11 years, who has been supporting our members and advocating on various fronts for policy improvements and good governance. We thank both for their commitment and dedication to CCSA and our members and wish them all the very best as they move into their next season of life.

Over the coming weeks you will see the profiles of each CCSA staff member popping up on both our CCSA face book and Instagram. I encourage you to take time to read about their skillset and get to know a little more. They are wonderful team doing an amazing job of serving you our members and advocating on behalf of the sector.
