What is a recognised emergency management body for Community Service Leave?

A recognised emergency body is:

  • a body that has a role or function during emergencies/natural disasters
  • a fire-fighting, civil defence or rescue body
  • any other body which is mainly involved in responding to an emergency or natural disaster.

These may include (but are not limited to) bodies such as:

  • the State Emergency Service (SES)
  • the Rural Fire Service (RFS)
  • the RSPCA (in respect of animal rescue during emergencies or natural disasters).
