If an employee has circumstances arise that would fit the definition for use of personal/carer’s leave while on annual leave, then the employee can use their paid personal/carer’s leave entitlement instead of the pre-arranged annual leave.
The usual notice and evidence requirements in place regarding the use of personal/carer’s leave apply in these circumstances.
An employee cannot be directed to take annual leave while they are taking paid or unpaid personal/carer’s leave.
