Can a committee member be removed from a committee?

The constitution will typically contain a specific section on removal of committee members.  In most cases a committee member can only be removed by way of a resolution put forward in a general meeting of the association. This cannot be done by way of a committee meeting.

In the Model Constitution used in NSW for associations the clause on removal of committee members also gives the member subject to the removal resolution the right to make representations on their behalf to the members of the association.
