In December 2022 the Australian Government passed the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022. The Act amends workplace relations laws relating to bargaining, job security, gender equality, compliance and enforcement, workplace conditions and protections and workplace relations institutions.
The changes and new laws are to be introduced in stages over the next 12 months, having commenced at the end of 2022.
What changes applies now?
Changes regarding job security, gender equity, enterprise agreements and enterprise bargaining have already commenced with some transitional arrangements in place.
