Message from the CEO: 23 March 2022

It was such a pleasure to connect with Members at the Rural and Remote Forum held at the Fairmont Resort Leura last week. The Forum has become a fixture on the CCSA calendar of events and one I look forward to because of the opportunity it provides to bring together members from across the State and beyond the States borders. The last two years of the pandemic have been difficult with lockdowns, service closures, teaching at home and managing sickness either in your staff or family. The Forum provided a welcome break from all of that as well as the opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues, take inspiration from key note speakers, learn something new or hear the latest information from the Department of Education representatives at our round table discussions.

For many delegates it was an opportunity to meet some of the CCSA team who have a wealth of knowledge and experience that was shared in the sessions they presented. Bringing the forum to fruition is a team effort and I want to give a shout out to the CCSA team who worked closely with me to make the forum a success. We are finalising the venue for the 2023 Forum and hope to release more information shortly, however delegates at this years Forum can purchase 3 ticket bundles at a special rate for the 2023 event. This special deal is only available to delegates who attended this year’s forum so watch out for your invitation and don’t miss out.

The CCSA Administrators Network has kicked off and we are delighted to be extending our support to Administration staff in ECE services. There was a strong showing of Administration staff at the forum too and this emphasises the important role these team members play in the management of services. The first round of the Network is fully subscribed however it is not too late to participate in Round 2. More information about how to subscribe to the network appears further in this eConnect.

Lastly the CCSA team are working hard to bring a varied training and consultancy program to you. Our training calendar has commenced with two sessions delivered to date. Enrolments are strong which tells us there is a thirst for knowledge in the sector. We have some exciting projects in the works especially in the area of self-directed and self-paced learning so stay tuned for more information towards the middle of the year.
