The Fair Work Commission (FWC) has announced the Annual Wage Review 2018 – 2019 Decision. The National Minimum Wage and Award Rates will increase by 3%.
The FWC still has to make Determinations on the application of the Decision to pay rates and allowances in each Award. CCSA will publish the new pay rates once the Determinations have been finalised by the FWC. Based on previous years’ experience this will occur in mid-to-late June.
CCSA recommends services treat with caution rates from other parties that are published prior to the Determinations being made.
Pay rate increases will not apply until the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2019.
If your employees are covered by an Enterprise Agreement that refers to either the relevant Modern Award(s) or the Annual Wage Review in its wage-setting mechanism, your rates of pay may be affected by this increase. Alternatively, if the Annual Wage Review results in Modern Award base rates that exceed those contained in your Agreement, you will need to review your Agreement pay rates.
We will provide more information for those services covered by Enterprise Agreements when the Determinations are finalised.
